Some Stories from Kids We Support

MEET BOGDAN

We are raising funds for this 6-year-old boy from Chernivtsi Region. He has Cerebral Palsy and needs rehabilitation in a clinic in Western Ukraine. Rehabilitation consists of spinal correction, reflex therapy, complex massage, mobilizing gymnastics, mobilization of peripheral joints, apitherapy, mechanotherapy on “Motomed”, orofacial massage, speech therapy, and water therapy. 10-day course costs 1900 dollars. This covers his medical expenses and his parents staying next to the clinic. They try to go three or four times a year, and their last course took place in August. There is no medical insurance in Ukraine, and all expenses have to be covered by parents. His parents cannot afford it.

MEET DASHA

We are helping this girl from Kyiv. She has Cerebral Palsy and needs physical therapy and rehabilitation procedures. It’s approximately 400 dollars a month. Because of power outages in the city due to bombing, the prices for rehabilitation are constantly going up. The girl gets sick often as her immune system is not as strong. Sometimes she has only one procedure a week, sometimes four. She is 6 years old.

MEET DARINA

We are raising money to help this girl from Kharkiv Region. She is 18 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. She is oldest child in the family, they have two more children. Every month she needs hygiene products (total cost is 200 dollars monthly) and twice a year she needs to have rehabilitation course in Western Ukraine (one course costs 1600 dollars). They are doing their best to help their daughter, yet they need help.

MEET RODION

We are helping this five year old boy from Kherson has Cerebral Palsy. Kherson is being bombed everyday – the destruction is horrible. His father was in Russian captivity when Kherson city was occupied. Then he stayed in Kherson and tries to work and volunteers helping other people in need, earning very little money. Boy’s mother and his older brother are in Odessa, where the boy has treatment in Rehabilitation Center. It costs 300 dollars a month.
